The estate and the island
Canary Wharf is the estate itself: the squares, and the hotels at Westferry Circus and West India Quay. The Isle of Dogs takes in the residential towers along Marsh Wall and the quieter streets running down to Island Gardens. E14 gathers the whole postcode onto one page, for anyone who knows the code before the street.
Upstream, along the north bank
Limehouse is the marina basin and Narrow Street. Wapping is converted warehouses and the old high street tucked behind them. Tower Bridge marks the western edge of the map: St Katharine Docks, Trinity Square and the point where the City begins.
Across the water and out to the runway
Greenwich covers the town, the park and the O2 on the Peninsula. Royal Docks and ExCeL is written for exhibition weeks, London City Airport for late landings and dawn departures, and Stratford for nights beside the Olympic Park.
