Lea is petite, hazel-eyed and quick to laugh. Her Stratford evening turns on the Victorian theatre on Gerry Raffles Square, a red and gold auditorium that feels a century removed from the Olympic Park glass outside. She has read the programme through before the house lights fall, and her review arrives with supper. Luna's postcode is the estate itself. On Cabot Square she opens with a sherry flight at a Spanish restaurant, explains each glass lightly, and settles on the dinner wine once she knows your taste. She is curvy, confident and bold in her styling, with a photographer's eye and an appetite for new theatre. Outside, the fountains keep running long after the square has emptied, and she likes to finish there. She books Monday to Thursday. Small plates and a flight fit into two hours, £500; stretch to four hours, £900, and there is time for another bottle.

Patricia's corner is Wapping, where warehouse walls lean over the river and an ancient tavern keeps a terrace above the tide. A tiny paint box travels in her bag, and on a clear night she catches the water in a few minutes. Film noir, second-hand bookshops and soft bohemian clothes complete the picture.
